Serostim

Serostim (somatropin) for injection is a recombinant human growth hormone supplied as a sterile, white to off-white lyophilized powder for subcutaneous administration after reconstitution. It is provided strictly for laboratory research use only and is not for human or veterinary use.

Supplied as: Serostim is available in three strengths — 4 mg, 5 mg, and 6 mg per vial. This listing is for the 6 mg strength, packaged as 7 single-dose vials (NDC 44087-0006-7), co-packaged with 7 vials of Sterile Water for Injection, USP (1 mL single-dose vials) as the diluent.

Reconstitution: Reconstitute each 6 mg vial with 0.5 mL to 1 mL of the provided Sterile Water for Injection, USP. Aim the diluent stream against the glass vial wall to prevent foaming. Swirl gently with a rotary motion until completely dissolved — do not shake. Use the reconstituted solution immediately and discard any unused portion. Do not use if the solution is cloudy or contains particulate matter; it should be clear or slightly opalescent.

Storage: Before reconstitution, store cartons at room temperature between 15°C and 30°C (59°F to 86°F). After reconstitution, single-dose vials must be used immediately; do not freeze. Protect from light and keep out of the reach of children.
